There are proven emotional responses to different colors. They can pull and push us in different ways. For example a bright red ruby can make us feel passion and love at the same time we feel anger and danger. Those visceral emotions that we feel in response to color are why I think color is something to be exploited. On a dull grey day, when I need just a little subliminal lift to motivate me, I'll purposfully choose my bright yellow cords to help give me a boost. When I need to feel calm and serene, I'll wrap myself in my favorite, blue dot scarf from See Design.

My 2 favorite looks for evening? Edgy glam & Mod Luxe for sure!

All dressed up and nowhere to go! That's me this summer! Oh well, there's always day dreaming which is what I did when I put together these boards on Polyvore! These are my 2 favorite looks for evening were I to have somewhere to go (I tend to go for the more modern and bolder looks). In either case, the key is simple, the right unique accessories to complete the look and tell the story. Not too many accessories mind you, just the right ones!

Below is my fantasy Edgy Glam look for a warm (but not too hot) evening in NYC, gallery hopping after a tasty meal at Spice Market in Chelsea. I think the bi-metal accessories by Cassavoy & Co. are bold but have a softer side which plays down the edge a bit.

Next is my fantasy Mod Luxe look for a sunset roof top cocktail party. In this case, I like the black accessories to tone down the pop color in the dress and shoes. A Jacqueline Sanchez lego ring with a diamond will start a conversation anywhere!

The spring color block look is right up my alley - and I found the perfect dress!

It's always exciting when trends come in style that suit your personality! I love all the bright color this season and the vibrant clashing between the hues. It feels very optimistic and fun. Pair that with the mod sensibility that is my go to style for feeling great and I am in heavan this 2012 spring season. I happened upon this popish, vibrant, color block dress at LOFT and had to have it! I'm pairing it with a JacQueline Sanchez ring, an amazing Throwing Stars necklace and a MIMs Maine handbag all hand-crafted accessories from the BeehiveStyle site. The finishing touch? A splurge - a new pair of sandles from Kate Spade! Hope you like my style - what's yours?
