new beehiveStyle unique jewelry for spring 2012

Colorful hand-crafted jewelry worn with a pair of well-tailored jeans and a basic top?  A classic look that's right up my alley.
new beehiveStyle unique jewelry for spring 2012
That's why I am in love with our new selection of Susan Fleming silver jewelry - the brightly colored chiyogami paper looks so striking against the hue and texture of blue jean material!  For me unique jewelry and well-tailored jeans, like the pair of Paige jeans I just purchased (above) are two things I'll pay a bit more for.  Fancy denims worn with a top purchased on clearance at Marshall's and a pair of unique earrings like the purple tear drop beauties above?  That's the type of everyday outfit that makes me feel comfortable, yet polished.

Looking for way to organize your jewelry? Well, I found it!
By Petra Geiger

I finally found a few great solutions for organizing my cherished hand-crafted jewelry collection!

Not the most pressing issue in the universe I realize, but I have a bourgeoning collection of handmade jewelry that I've collected over the years of working with independent designers. And it's getting hard to store and keep organized. I love all my pieces (each one is full of memories of the people who crafted them) and wear them everyday so they need to be accessible but at the same time need to be stored seperately. For instance I just found out that combining oxidized silver jewely and stainless steel jewelry is disastrous! Both pieces ruined. So here are a few solutions I've found. I have bought these 3 items and voila I am organized and loving it!

So, after searching forever for a nicely designed and functional jewelry box that would not break the bank this was the one that I came up with. It's very simple but functional and pretty much goes with any decor. It's the McKenna collection from Pottery Barn and it comes in various sizes and even several colors. This one is medium and was $199. This is where I store my more precious pieces.

Next, from Muji.com I found this acrylic earring holder that is fantastic for everyday earrings that I wear often. I love that it is enclosed and protected so even keeping silver earrings on display is not a problem. I even put a few anti-tarnish strips in the bottom to keep my silver sparkling.

Last but not least I got a few of these organizers from Container Store for the drawers in my bathroom and here is where I keep watches and fun pieces that I go to everyday. I love collecting but feel so much better when I can organize and enjoy my collection and easily find the perfect piece for my daily fashion statement!

Blogger Leigh Metcalf's Style? High Five!
By Shelley Yankus

high five profile of leigh metcalf on beehivestyle

Learn the top 5 rules the voice behind 'Found, Now Home' swears by for conveying her unique style...via her closet.

Leigh is one of those women with style that makes you wonder - how does she make it all look so easy?  She manages to author an exquisite vintage-inspired blog, contribute to publications like the UK's 91 Magazine, and mother a 3-year old...all in flawlessly unique style.  High-five, Leigh!  And thanks for sharing your top-5 style tips below.

Found Now Home blog author Leigh Metcalf - unique style rules

1. Comfort is a top priority. I think people look more confident if you can tell they are comfortable in their clothes.
2. Shop sales wisely.  When shopping sales and thrift stores, I ask myself, "if this was full-price, would I really want it or do I just want it because it's inexpensive?" If the answer is yes, I'd get it if it was full price, then I get it.  The cute red dress (above) was an end-of-season Urban Outfitters score last year.  Love it!  Also, end-of-season sales are the best time to buy shoes - you just have to wait a few months to wear them!
3. Buy 2 if you REALLY love it.
4. Invest in good jeans. I have never seen a pair of cheap jeans that look great!
5. Shop independent or thrift to add some individuality.  The classic tweed cape (above) was purchased from an indie-boutique, is comletely unique and adorably granny-chic.

Thanks for the tips! Click to see more, including Leigh's best thrift-store find ever, her favorite hand-crafted jewelry from beehivestyle, and a few home accents and decor picks, too!
