The spring color block look is right up my alley - and I found the perfect dress!

It's always exciting when trends come in style that suit your personality! I love all the bright color this season and the vibrant clashing between the hues. It feels very optimistic and fun. Pair that with the mod sensibility that is my go to style for feeling great and I am in heavan this 2012 spring season. I happened upon this popish, vibrant, color block dress at LOFT and had to have it! I'm pairing it with a JacQueline Sanchez ring, an amazing Throwing Stars necklace and a MIMs Maine handbag all hand-crafted accessories from the BeehiveStyle site. The finishing touch? A splurge - a new pair of sandles from Kate Spade! Hope you like my style - what's yours?

Looking for way to organize your jewelry? Well, I found it!

I finally found a few great solutions for organizing my cherished hand-crafted jewelry collection!

Not the most pressing issue in the universe I realize, but I have a bourgeoning collection of handmade jewelry that I've collected over the years of working with independent designers. And it's getting hard to store and keep organized. I love all my pieces (each one is full of memories of the people who crafted them) and wear them everyday so they need to be accessible but at the same time need to be stored seperately. For instance I just found out that combining oxidized silver jewely and stainless steel jewelry is disastrous! Both pieces ruined. So here are a few solutions I've found. I have bought these 3 items and voila I am organized and loving it!

So, after searching forever for a nicely designed and functional jewelry box that would not break the bank this was the one that I came up with. It's very simple but functional and pretty much goes with any decor. It's the McKenna collection from Pottery Barn and it comes in various sizes and even several colors. This one is medium and was $199. This is where I store my more precious pieces.

Next, from Muji.com I found this acrylic earring holder that is fantastic for everyday earrings that I wear often. I love that it is enclosed and protected so even keeping silver earrings on display is not a problem. I even put a few anti-tarnish strips in the bottom to keep my silver sparkling.

Last but not least I got a few of these organizers from Container Store for the drawers in my bathroom and here is where I keep watches and fun pieces that I go to everyday. I love collecting but feel so much better when I can organize and enjoy my collection and easily find the perfect piece for my daily fashion statement!

Savvy style for a new year's party!

Add style with handmade accessories to personalize a new year's eve look!

Each year the holiday parties loom and each year I am scrambling for a stylish look that will last beyond this year's trends. Personally I don't have alot of time to shop - even though I love to - so as much as I would like a fabulous dress from an up and coming designer I just don't have the time to peruse my favorite boutiques in NYC. So here's what I do. I find a dress that is versatile from a bigger box store and make it my own with spectacular handmade accessories. Unique jewelry and handmade clutches individualize your look and make your presonality shine through. Here's my outfit for this year. I love the monochrome look and it's comfortable, stylish and fun - what more could you ask for!

A stylish and functional Room and Board Console!

I don't know about you but I am always searching for things that make my life a little easier - but I should preface that by saying things that make my life easier and that are also stylish! This console definitely fits the bill! Here's why. We are a family of four and when everyone comes home from their day out in the world they usually have things to deposit on the first table they can see. A cluttered mess ensues!!

Here's the answer. Each person in the family gets a roomy drawer to hide their keys, cell phones, homework, books... you name it! And the best part is the top of the console stays pristine and gets styled with a lovely ceramic vase to hold fresh flowers, a unique lamp, photo album and why not a modern clock above it to keep everyone in sync! This console, although pricey, will last a good long time being that it is made of solid cherry and I absolutely love the retro modern design. This is definitely a solution I can live with and will keep us all feeling harmonious - especially me!
