A California girl living in western North Carolina. Mani Designs founder Amber Mahler learned to use her hands as a metalsmith and jewelry student in a Blue Ridge Mountains craft school. It was during this time she discovered wholeness in a new way that led her towards a path to follow. A lifelong observer of nature, and inspired greatly by Karl Blossfeldt’s photographs of plants and seedpods, this beehivestyle designer soon found herself opening the floodgates of creativity and her studio doors – Mani Designs jewelry was the discovery at the end of Mahler’s creative and professional path. All of Mani Designs’ products are made in the U.S.A. and include recycled silver. Vermeil is applied in a solid gold layer over sterling silver, allowing for the color of gold without having to use as much mined gold. Non-fluoride flux and citrus pickle are used for cleaner emissions inside her studio and 100% post-consumer packaging is always used. There is true poetry in Mani Designs jewelry, poetry in the form of adornments created from the designer’s continued observation of nature…and the premise that beauty must also have meaning.
